I am NOT the teacher, I don't know how to do this!
Well, actually, I am the teacher, but I know lots of parents who say this at home. Have you ever felt this way? What resources do you go to? Let's talk for a second about reading and language arts since that is my area. My high school children frequently come home with things that they need my help with. I am a big Google person. If I am in question about anything, I Google it! What tools do you need to be able to help your child at home? I would like to help you get a list going of sites that can be helpful to you!

I am a grown up, I don't need help!
Have you ever read something as an adult and had no clue what you had just read? I am sure your next thought might have been "I am an adult, I can't ask someone for help!". If you have ever been here, you are not alone. Even as a teacher I have trouble with technical reading, and I admit, sometimes I will shove it in a drawer and like Scarlett O'Hara, "Think about it tomorrow". Insurance documents always trip me up, legal documents are another hard one for me. With that being said, sometimes it is necessary to deal with immediately, so, what do we do when we as adults struggle with reading? Let me hear some of the things you might struggle with and then we can figure out where to go for assistance! Don't be shy, I went first!

Allow Me to Explain!
Before I explain, allow me to apologize. I did not explain blogging clearly and as a teacher I am fraught with embarrassment! In order to participate in the blog atmosphere, simply respond by clicking the comment button under the post. I guess in the technical world that we get thrown into, I sometimes forget that not everyone is required to know how to do these things! It is not too late to get started and comment on the first post. I'll give you another week before we move on to the next post. I am so happy to have you as part of our Reading Triangle!
